Dermal Fillers (such as Juvederm®, Restylane® or Radiesse®) are used to restore volume to the area around the mouth. Dermal Fillers give lips fullness, erase the downward frown lines at the corners of the mouth, as well as wrinkles/creases in cheek areas. In addition to restoring a more youthful appearance to your smile, dermal fillers are useful in treating high lip lines and uneven lips. Our East Islip office also offers frown line treatment with Botox Cosmetic.
How does dermal filler work?
Generally, when you look at the world of esthetic injectable treatment, Botox® is typically for the top half of the face and dermal fillers are for the bottom half. These are the areas that frame the teeth and mouth. Dermal Fillers are gently placed in these areas through an extraoral injection right under the folds and creases to plump them up.
